Somayog is a therapeutic and restorative yoga practice that offers benefits for those who suffer from back or neck pain. In Somayog, emphasis is placed on the spine, with exercises targeting the hips, pelvis, and back.
Somayog movements are slow, deliberate, healing and gentle. They are done with a combination of breath and muscle movement. Through practice, people acquire greater body awareness of how their muscles function, a deep sense of relaxation and comfort and a soothing of their nervous system.
